FPL Player Rotation Risk
By @FPL101_Chris,Team line ups can be harder to predict at certain times.
In these times of uncertainty it is worth having a stronger bench and avoiding the Bench Boost chip. It's worth being wary of these situations:
-
Start of the season
Squads can still be quite unsettled at teh start fo a season. There could have been a change to the playing squad, a change of manager, players returning late or being given extended holiday after international tournaments. It's probably best to wait 3 or 4 weeks for things to settle. -
After international breaks
Players can pick up injuries while away on international duty or return late. -
Before Champions League games
If the team needs a positive result from the upcoming match they may rest key players in the league match before. This would not apply if the team has already qualified for the next round or has a big advantage from the first leg. This may also affect other European or cup matches depending on how seriously a team is taking them. -
Fixture congestion
This is most obvious around Christmas and New Year where teams can be playing up to 4 matches in 10 days. Injuries and fatigue may force teams to rotate. This can also happen later in the season due to postponements. -
Last few games of the season
If teams no longer have anything to play for they may choose to give minutes to young players or other players who have not played many minutes during the season. -
After a change of manager
A new manager might have different ideas and might change the starting eleven. This may keep changing for a few weeks until they settle on their preferred line up. -
After the January transfer window
If the team has made changes it ight eb worth waiting a couple of weeks to see who is going to start and who has been drafted in as cover.
This actually doesn't leave that many periods of stability in which to target the Bench Boost chip.
